Evacuation Drill for Long-Term Care Facilities (pdf)

This guidebook will help Long-Term Care facilities (LTC's) evaluate their preparedness for an evacuation. In particular, it provides an organization a way to determine its readiness to respond to a crisis or disaster, clarifies gaps or problems with existing policies and plans, assists administration and staff understand their roles during a disaster, serves as a training tool, helps identify needs for other resources, and serves as a tool for modifying and improving existing plans based on the lessons learned during the drill.  This guidebook contains all the materials necessary to conduct a simulated evacuation using a type of drill called a tabletop exercise. No actual patient movement is involved.
